So, I get my liver biopsy performed on Tues. the 9th. What am I supposed to expect? The doc says as soon as he gets the results he wants to start treatment. But...what if I don't feel like I'm ready for treatment? Is it absolutely necessary? Or can I wait a while? My VL was kind of low and honestly I'm not ready to go through the horrible side effects just yet. I'm a single mother with two young children to support and I don't want to get to the point to where I can't take care of them or can't handle working or anything like that.

Re: Biopsy
Thu, October 11, 2007 - 4:33 PMHi Adriana,
Nice to meet you, but first of all I'd like to ask what is your genotype? That is HUGE when making the decision to treat or not. Also, having a low viral load is always a good thing as far as clearing the virus and obtaining a SVR. When you get the results of your biopsy you will be able to make a more informed decision.
Let us know how you are doing.

Re: Biopsy
Sat, November 3, 2007 - 10:42 PMHi Adriana,
Here is a hug in advance for the day of your biopsy. It's no big deal, it's over in 2 seconds.
There are lots of factors in deciding whether to go on treatment or not. It's a good idea to get all the facts and the medical opinions and then have a serious think.
I did treatment and really it was only difficult toward the end so it's not an automatic nightmare.
