I just picked up today's Interferon shot from the pharmacy, but it's different this time. Usually I get one fully-loaded injectable needle - a Redipen. This time I got two vials and two long-ass needles. What the hell do I do with that?
Anybody ever used the dual vial/dual needle system? Any idea what I'm supposed to do?
Help!!
Thanks.

I don't think I'm capable of dealing with this today. -

Wed, March 22, 2006 - 5:54 PMHi Georgia -
I used the dual system when I was on tx in 2001 but if your insurance covered the Redipen the first time then they should cover it again. I think you should take it back to the pharmacy. If not, call your doc first before you use it because when I was on tx, the amount was too much, so I didn't use the whole thing. Make sure you save the box so you can let your doc know exactly what was prescribed. Even if you take your shot a day or two late, better to be safe.
Sorry to hear about your situation. Definitely don't need more stress while on tx.
Hang in there!

Wed, March 22, 2006 - 7:34 PMGeorgia, I would be very surprised if they switched you, it must be a mistake. When I was going on vacation, I asked the doc if I could move my shot one day and she said, no problem, the rule is 80% of the medication, 80% of the time.
