Oh Brock... I'm so sorry... but please don't give up hope.

The main thing is that you keep "living" with the virus. Live life to the fullest... continue to dream... and to reach for the things that you want in life... never give up on the joys of life, even with this Damn virus.

I know that life sometimes knocks us to the ground… then kicks us right in the teeth … my advice… “STAND”

So here is a song for you dear Brock..

    ***

You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
    Alone and helpless
    Like you've lost your fight
    But you'll be alright

Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend, till you break
Cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up
    Decide you've had enough
You get mad you get strong
Wipe your hands shake it off
Then you Stand, Then you stand

    Life's like a novel
    With the end ripped out
    The edge of a canyon
    With only one way down
Take what you're given before its gone
Start holding on, keep holding on

Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you’re made of
You might bend ‘til you break
Cause it’s all you can take
On your knees you look up
    Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand

    Everytime you get up
And get back in the race
One more small piece of you
    Starts to fall into place
    Ooohhh

Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you’re made of
You might bend ‘til you break
Cause it’s all you can take
On your knees you look up
    Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand

Yeah, then you stand – yeah
    Yeah, Baby
WOO HOO, WOO HOO, WOO HOO-
Then you stand – Yeah, Yeah

    Song By… RASCAL FLATTS

    ***

    Big Hugs,
    Tonjha

Very sorry to hear that Brock. Check out those vx950 trials, lots of promising things coming down the pike.

When I didn't clear last time I didn't even get labs done for 4 yrs, it was very liberating just to walk away from it all for awhile.

If I don't clear this time, I am done with this rollercoaster until a sure fire dragon slayer comes along.

I lived with the disease much more gracefully than I am living with the treatment.

Sorry to hear that Brock.. but like Shel said the VX 950 (sounds like some sort of motorbike) trials are very promising. It's a let down I bet but just end of round one.

I been so busy since I got off treatment - work, school, family, my new car... ect....
Dont have much time to sit around twiddleing my thumbs worryin about shit no more. I want to forget all about fighting the dragon for awhile til it's time for a new biopsi a few years from now. I am going to start being an online activist for hep c til I get enough money to start traveling and being one. I will also keep in touch here to be supportive of others.

So sorry to hear about this Brock... I just don't understand why it can clear some people and not others, it's a mystery. I think raising awarness is a great way to fight it, the more we know about it the better armed we are even when it comes to new treatments. And new ones are coming, so hang in there. Like you said, take a break, let your self relax... you deserve it!

I get my viral back on Wed... I keep thinking that by some miracle it will still be undetectable but I know that won't happen, I didn't finish the full course.. but we always hope don't we.

Hey Brock, doing tx got you to quit drinking, that alone made it worthwhile, dontcha think? And you started dating. And you met us. I think you are kind of a lucky guy. Where are you at with it these days?

".. but we always hope don't we. "

Yeah Tiffany, I was a master at hoping for other things so this wont be any different.... I'm not ruling out "Mirraculas cure" from the big guy upstairs. I know a chick who was mirraculasly cured of hep c, but unfortunately the dammage the disease had done was pretty bad before she was cured of it.

"Hey Brock, doing tx got you to quit drinking, that alone made it worthwhile, dontcha think?"

No shit Bev. That was priceless.

Oh well, on to the next.. I think I am going to try the natural less evasive route this time, that damn treatment almost killed me. I've got two small children to think about...

That sucks Tiffany. When I was really really sick from my hcv, I did acupuncture and herbs and it really made my symptoms get better. I don't know if it slowed progression but I was 1:1 always so maybe it did. I don't know but if tx didn't work I've was going back on the regimen. Naturalpaths and Homeopaths do some great work too.

My post tx results by the way include the possibility of reynauds and a saliva issue, and, oh, I'm still symptomatic which means, I have a whole slew of other problems unrelated (now) from the hcv. It's all so goddamn delightful.

FYI, Roche just moved one of their new drugs to Phase II trials. And Vertex is expected to be on the market in 2009. That's what I heard anyway.
