My husband just completed his course of Interferon and Ribabvarin, but has a bunch of left over Ribabvarin - about 120 capsules of 200mg pills. He doesn't need it anymore, and we really would hate to just toss it in the garbage, since it is sooo expensive, and were sure there are folks in need!
so does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? is there a place to donate something like this, or a place we can offer it up to someone in need?

Re: Left over medication: place to donate?
Mon, May 7, 2007 - 5:44 PMWhen I did treatment the first time 8 yrs ago, I received my meds through Merck directly, I had just recieved 3 months of Interferon and 6 months of Gargoyl eggs and they kicked me off treatment. Thats, oh, about $12,000 in meds at full price. When I asked the doc if there was somewhere to donate they told me to throw them away. The horror of it that there are so many in need and I was expected to toss this stuff. I searched for over 3 months and never did find a place that would take these meds. Good luck to you.
