Hi,
My name is charles March aka 'chip'. About a month ago I had physical (can't spell either) smile! and a week later got THE CALL. At that time, can't say I knew anything bot Hep. But started to read and learn. I found out last week that I am a 1-B. Did have a shot to immunize vs a & b and will have another in 30 days then 6 months. I think then the REAL work begins.
A part of me is very scared - BUT I know that my lord Jesus will protect me and nothing will happen to me that He dosen't allow, I AM a christian First and I know this will be His Will in whatever happens to this 'shell' of mine.
I got this dragon in the 60's & early 70's when my ONLY care was drugs - drugs - and more drugs, Don't forget the drinking mass quanities of booze. It was a pretty sad life that I was living.
As a result of my lifestyle I visited 'the land that time forgot' for about 30 years.
I have been "clean and sober now for about 16 years (dec '92). But to be honest, over the past two months I've had 2 six packs of beer. No more period, my promise to the world and more importantly - myself.
I will do all in my power to kill the dragon - and live a healthy life style.
I can ramble on but, in the intrest(s) of boring you-all I'll stop here.
I am building a true support network and hope that you will be am intergral part of it.
thanx
God Bless You All & all you love.

welcome Chip, you have a familiar story going there. Don't be scared of treatment, its just another of lifes little adventures, some bumpy days, some not so much.

We have a whole pack of survivors here with lots of good tips and not a small number of hilarious treatment stories to tell. Keep a sense of humor and it can be a fairly smooth, occasionally eventful journey.

Keep the faith sir, its my motto too....

Welcome to the club Chip. You're in the right place (no pun intended).

Normally I don't say stuff like this but keep away from the booze guy, your hp will lift it if you turn it over. Worst thing for a liver. Worse that cheesecake even.

        Did you say cheesecake. hummmm
Good to berer oops be here [that's better smile]. Life is too short to let a tiny piece of garbage take it over. Have no fear I'll not drink again period.
If I remember correctly your from Boston area - Worcester here. I was scheduled to go into Bean town today and visit the Statehouse (sort of protest) But won't make it.
Thanx for the uplift - though I'm not keen on the reference to my favorite food. I think you mean my liver could be 'shot' and look like that. I'm, sure I'm right here.
Please, do have a great day
        God Bless you,
        chip

        Hi Chip

Welcome, There's nothing like talking to people who are going through the same (or similar)
I'm done with treatment now, I finished 24 weeks nearly six months ago.
I'm just around to find out how others are doing post treatment and maybe give a helping hand to those on treatment.

        All the best
        Tracey

    Hi Chip,

I was scarred out of my wits when I found out what I was up against. Finally got the ball rolling then had to sit back and wait, wait & wait on my insurance to approve. Finally the big day arrived for my 1st shot. I worked myself ragged all day just in hopes for the worst that could happen I'd be so tried I'd sleep right thru it. I'm on week 8, this Sunday will began week 9 and week I continue to do the same as day one. I haven't had any real bad sides to mention as of yet, hopefully none will come but if they do sneak up on me, I'll handle it then. Building that support group is the most important thing you do at this point. You can add me to your list! I honestly have many factors to how I contracted HepC. I had 2 blood transfusions 1 back in 1973 the other in 1986. I did the drug thing back years ago and then there's the tatoo my jailhouse tatoo artist nephew gave me 4 years ago. As that ole saying goes, We live & we learn.

Hey there Chip- So you got "the bomb" dropped on you like I did, I feel for you. Scared out of my mind. It's been a year since my dx. Ups and downs, but not as bad as I made it out to be at first. Chin up!! It's true that He never gives us more than we can handle!! Anyways- welcome and keep posting. I really found this place helpful!! Hi everyone!
